Do you offer in-person appointments?
No. Likens Counseling and Wellness provides telehealth-only counseling services for clients located in Oklahoma.
Do you offer telehealth?
Yes. All counseling services are provided through secure telehealth for clients located in Oklahoma. You can attend sessions from your home, office, or another private location without traveling to an office.
Who can receive services?
Services are available to clients physically located in Oklahoma at the time of session. This includes adults, first responders, public safety professionals, military personnel, veterans, healthcare workers, and others seeking counseling support.
Is counseling confidential?
Yes. Counseling is confidential, with limited exceptions required by law, such as risk of serious harm to yourself or others, abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult, or a valid court order.
Will my employer find out I am in counseling?
No. Your employer is not notified that you are in counseling unless you provide written permission or there is a specific legal or safety exception.
Do you work with first responders?
Yes. David works with law enforcement, fire, EMS, dispatch, corrections, military personnel, veterans, healthcare professionals, and others in high-stress or high-responsibility roles.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. Likens Counseling and Wellness currently accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma and Optum / UnitedHealthcare. Private pay is also available.
Should I verify my insurance benefits before starting?
Yes. Coverage varies by plan. It is recommended that you verify your behavioral health benefits, copay, deductible, telehealth coverage, and whether prior authorization is required before your first appointment.
How long are sessions?
Standard counseling sessions are typically 53 to 60 minutes. Intake sessions may be slightly longer. Extended sessions may be available when clinically appropriate, including for EMDR.
What is EMDR?
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a structured therapy approach used to help the brain process distressing memories, trauma, anxiety, and negative beliefs.
Do I have to talk about every detail of what happened?
No. Some therapy approaches, including EMDR, may allow work to happen without describing every detail of a painful or traumatic experience.
How do I get started?
